The first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake arrived on the Switch 2 as a good port, but what about the rest?
This year, we saw Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade arrive on the Switch 2 as a good port that practically becomes a benchmark for Nintendo’s handheld. But what about Rebirth and Part 3, which are more technically ambitious? According to the trilogy’s director, expect “30 stable fps whenever possible”.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Part 3 run at 30 fps on Switch 2 and Series S.
In an interview with the website Automaton , director Naoki Hamaguchi was asked what we can expect from the versions of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and the upcoming Part 3 of the trilogy on weaker consoles, such as the Xbox Series S and the Nintendo Switch 2.

In case you don’t remember, Rebirth had more severe visual issues and cuts to run at 60 fps on the PS5, so it’s interesting to see how less powerful hardware will handle this port – and it’s worth remembering that all 3 parts are confirmed to arrive on PC and other consoles. In Hamaguchi’s words:
We are consistently striving to achieve 30 fps whenever possible. For Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and the third chapter of the trilogy, our engineers are working hard on adjustments to ensure stable performance at that level. I hope players are eagerly awaiting it.”
While Square Enix’s work is promising, the specific statement “whenever possible” raises concerns about performance drops, even at 30 fps. Rebirth arrives on Xbox and Switch 2 on June 3rd, while part 3 has not been announced and lacks details.
